Friends asked me frequently how’s it going with the GoDataDriven Academy in Covid-19 times.

They hear about how the training business have been affected by the lack of physical classes and are worried.

I reply we have only reasons to celebrate: since the summer we have grown our pool of full-time trainers with Marysia Winkels, James Hayward, Steven van Duin, and before Christmas we’ll get a new trainer — can’t name her yet sorry!

In November two new marketing colleagues will join — can’t wait to tell you who they are.

We are growing double digits (!!) since 2019 and almost 300% compared to 2018.

We have started partnerships abroad with https://aibridge.ch, are scaling up our certifications process for #DataScience with #Python (https://gdd.li/certifiedDS) and Data Science for #ProductOwners (https://gdd.li/certifiedPO), and training across 16 time zones (!!).

And of course, the rest of the team is still there: Vadim Nelidov on the front line, Gert-Jan Steltenpool rocking the boat with sales, Rob Dielemans knocking down all walls around us, and Walter Van der Scheer marketing like there’s no tomorrow.

I thought I’d seen it all, but I was wrong.

I thought that people emailing me a Word document with a single picture in it — because they didn’t know how to attach picture but they knew how to attach Word files — was the best.

But I was wrong.

Just got somebody email me the picture they took — with their phone — of a Word document open on their computer, with important stuff in it.

Having Senior Shoe Designer as my current role on LinkedIn also means I get invited to the Global Footwear Awards.

Humbled.

Back story: I changed my role as Shoe Designer as GoDataDriven because I was getting almost daily recruiters emails/calls in 2014 and because I am (still) designing custom Nike sneakers for everyone that joins GoDataDriven.

The recruiters stopped, but sometimes I am invited to share my knowledge on other venues.
