Who is actually surprised that a platform selling nothing* of value, now actually sells stuff for basically nothing?

The town hall Almere in the Netherlands decided, just before the pandemic, to halve how often paper bins are emptied from residential neighborhoods.
The pandemic hit, we all changed how we shop, and after more than two years of data, they still haven’t reintroduced the old schedule or increased the capacity of public recycle points — all while increasing tax income through massive population growth.
Results?
Every Monday, this.
If you are in a position to take decisions, be more data-driven — and try to actually care for the environment!

Hi there,
I’m taking a very long break, and I’ll be back in August.
If you can’t wait please contact…
During Covid-19, a new tradition was born at GoDataDriven | Part of Xebia: online cooking workshops.
Why?
We have a diverse and international team, many of us coming from places with a rich culinary tradition.
Why not teach our colleagues how to cook differently once?
Of all people, my eldest children (11 and 10 at the time) started, with tiramisu and pasta 🧄, oil, and 🌶.
We then had the Spanish version by Guillermo Sánchez Dionis (go Barça), Indonesian by Sarah Parinussa, Colombian by Juan Manuel Perafan, again Italian (this time by me, not my kids).
And yesterday we had Mexican, by Bram Ochsendorf and Angelica Consejo Pinet.
And what an amazing result (enmoladas pictured)!
Thanks to all the chefs, and to Diana de Kruijf, Sander Hoogenbosch, and Shanon ten Napel for organizing! A great #hospitality #team goes a long way!

We’re at it again: GoDataDriven | Part of Xebia on the world stage!
At #pydata London we had Marysia Winkels talking about Data-Centric AI (BTW: do you know Marysia, together with Rens👋 Dimmendaal and Roel Bertens, were among the winners of the Data-Centric AI competition organized by Andrew Ng? Read more here https://www.deeplearning.ai/data-centric-ai-competition-godatadriven/).
Sharing the same stage, Usman Zafar talked about graph neural networks!
And if this wasn’t enough, next week Daniël Heres is going to talk about Data Fusion at the Data & AI summit in San Francisco (details here https://databricks.com/dataaisummit/session/datafusion-and-arrow-supercharge-your-data-analytical-tool-rusty-query-engine), organized by Databricks!
Proud of the team!

What the heck is #data #strategy?
What happens when you want to become a data-driven organization?
There’s a new meetup in town, talking about Data Strategy in the wild, and by the book, by Mariam Halfhide and Kevin Duisters.
I can’t vouch for the food as I didn’t meet the restaurant owner, their parents and grandparents, but the speakers are rock solid!
